ELENI LAZARATOU
EMERITUS PROFESSOR OF CHILD PSYCHIATRY
BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH (As of April 2025)
Eleni Lazaratou is Emeritus Professor of Child Psychiatry at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens. She specialized in Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry in France, where she remained for nine years. During her time there, she held positions at the Alfred Binet Child Psychiatry Center and as assistant professor at the Pierre et Marie Curie University, Paris VI.
After returning to Greece, she served as the scientific director of the Child and Adolescent Service at the Byron–Kaisariani Community Mental Health Center, Aiginiteio Hospital, 1st Department of Psychiatry, from February 1989 until September 2023.
She is a member of the board of directors of the European Association for Child and Adolescent Psychopathology (AEPEA).
She has participated in international research programs related to child psychiatry. She has numerous publications in both Greek and foreign journals and is the author of two books in French and five in Greek.
